Pupil Voice

The school council at St Peter's has been set up to give the pupils within the school a 'voice' in the running of the school. Each class at the beginning of the year elects two new members for the council (1 boy & 1 girl). These then attend monthly meetings held in school with the rest of the council.

Children are encouraged to ask their fellow classmates for any school improvement ideas or even problems within the school and these are then aired within the meetings. The councillors run the meetings with a Chairperson running the meeting and secretary taking minutes (both elected by the members). Ideas raised are then fed back to classmates and staff and an order of importance is given to items. Things looked at in the past have been :-

  • School toilets.
  • Murals.
  • Games for wet playtimes.
  • Games for outside play.
