Maths Day
We used our maths skills to make potions we used dragon blood, octopus ink, squashed frogs, unicorns tears, slug slime. We had to measure up to 500ml of all the potions and then we mixed it all together and Miss Sidaway had to check that it was done properly.
We had to solve problems with Mrs Bathurst: We had clues in a story and we had to read the story carefully and decide what was important to solve the problem.

On maths day we moved around the school to different classes to do different activities we went to Miss Stones class first and we made art with templates then we went to Miss Sidaways class we measured poisons to make five hundred and the poisons were dragons blood, unicorn tears, squashed frogs, slugs slime and octopus ink.
We then went on a treasure hunt around the school with Mr Fishwick we had to find coloured cubes around the school and then count the different colours up in a tally chart and then put this information into a graph.

On maths day the first hour I went to Mrs Williamsons class making potions with things. Then I went to Miss Herrett we were working with square numbers these are when 1x1=1 and then 2x2=4 3x3=9 and we keep on going but the numbers being times together stay the same.
With Mr Grimes we had to solve a murder to find out the murderer at St Peters Spa and the clues were all maths problems. The murderer was female and we had lots of fun.
With Mr lake we were going round the school finding pots with cubes in them we had to go back and make a tally chart to find how many coloured cubes we had found. We made a graph with this information.

First we went on a treasure hunt around school looking at boxes each box was full of cubes which we counted up and made a tally with a map. When we collected all the blocks we came back to class, then we made a bar chart of the different colours and how many there were.
Secondly we went to Mr Grimes classroom and had sheets of paper and clues to help us find out who murdered who. The clues were quite hard to figure out but when you know how it was easy.

You found out what square numbers are in year 5 and used them to create a piece of artwork. We also made two by two cubes out of blocks.
In year 4 we made potions of Grosse dragons blood, unicorns tears, frogs blood, octopus ink and slugs slime and we had to measure and mix it all.
