Maths Week
A truly successful week enjoyed by pupils, teachers and parents.
The whole school focused on puzzles and problem solving linked to Maths. The Happy Puzzle Company started off the week on Monday when each child took part in a puzzle session.
The focus was on thinking skills and teamwork, the sessions were inspirational and the pupils were engaged and motivated throughout!
The week continued with much enthusiasm and enjoyment- many pupils commented on the fun they had and how they did not even realise they were doing maths!! Maths was linked to many other areas of the curriculum, such as Science, art, PE and ICT but always with a focus on problem solving.
The end of the week saw all parents invited to an open session in their childs class- the children showed the parents some of the puzzles and activities they had been doing and parents were able to have a go to see if they could solve the problems.  A big well done to all the parents who were brave enough to take part in the maths orienteering which saw them racing all over the school to answer mental maths questions!!
