St Andrews Day
On Friday 30th November we celebrated St Andrews day. On this day some children in St Andrews did an assembly about him and we also decorated the dining hall by putting the St Andrews flag on all of the tables.

St Andrew is the patron Saint of Scotland, Romania and Russia. He was born in Bethsaida and he was one of the 12 Apostles (disciples of Jesus) and brother of Simon Peter (Saint Peter). He was a fisherman by trade, who lived in Galilee.
St Andrew is believed to have died on a diagonally transversed cross which the Romans sometimes used for executions and which, therefore, came to be called the Saltire (St Andrews cross).
It is said to be one of the oldest national flags of any country, dating back at least to the 12th century. The blue stands for the sky.
