St. Peters on Songs of Praise

On Saturday 8th May a group of very smartly turned out pupils and staff from St. Peters spent the day as part of the congregation recording a programme of Songs of Praise from Derby Cathedral. The programme focused on the life of Florence Nightingale and will be on BBC1 on Sunday 25th July. The recording started at 10:00am and went through until 3:30pm. There was a break in the middle though, where the children ate their packed lunches and played on Cathedral Green with the boys from the Cathedral Choir.

The day seemed very long, especially as we kept having to go over the hymns to get the best close ups!!

Well done to all the children involved, who worked hard to learn the different hymns and to Mrs Bathurst, Miss Sidaway and Mr Grimes for being there on the day and looking so wonderful!
