Year 6 Visit to the Holocaust Centre

On Thursday 18th November Year 6 visited the Holocaust Centre, as part of our World War 2 theme.

To start with we followed the life of a boy called Leo, who was Jewish and lived in Berlin. At the start he had a normal family and school life, but then he was segregated at school, friends who were not Jewish stopped speaking to him and the family had to go into hiding.
We also learnt about how children were rescued by the Kindertransport and brought to Britain. This included meeting a Holocaust survivor, who told us about his life as a child and how he had to leave his family behind when he was sent to Britain by his mum.
