For the European day of languages, year six studied German. Firstly we talked about why it is important to know other languages, and then we discussed what we already knew about Germany (it wasnt a lot!)

We identified Germany, its geographical features and surrounding countries on the map. We then used the internet to research German culture.

We learnt German greetings, numbers and phrases and even sung Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes in German!  It was great.

Finally, we looked at the work and philosophy of the German-Swiss painter Paul Klee and created paintings in his style. 

In all, it was a fun and educational day.
