Year 3 - Welcome to Wales 2007/2008
Welsh is the oldest language still spoken in Europe, so it was felt fitting to teach it on European day of languages. In year three our lessons consisted of a variety of fun, interactive lessons to teach number, basic language and also an experience of Welsh heritage. In our Numeracy lesson we played Sawl Teddy teaching us to count to ten in Welsh by counting the teddies.
In literacy we wrote postcards home after a holiday in Wales.  We also read the tragic story of Gelert the brave dog.
In the afternoon, we learnt Head, shoulders, knees and toes in Welsh as well as creating the Welsh national flower from a dolly peg and paper. It was a fun day which we all enjoyed!
