Year 6
Lights, Camera, Action
This term we will be really busy in Year 6.
We will start the term with SATs!!!!
But once they are over then the fun begins........
Throughout the term our topic is Lights, Camera, Action!. We will start by investigating the history of films. This will lead us into creating our own movie using plasticine, video cameras and still photography. Wallace and Gromit had better watch out! As part of this topic we will be looking at some of Shakespeares most famous plays.
We will have lots of visitors coming in to talk to us:
First we will have a visit from the RNLI. We will be learning how to be safe on the beach and watch videos of daring rescues.
Next the police will come to talk to us about why it is cool to NOT be in a gang.
Later in the term we have arranged for a visit from the Derbyshire Mountain Rescue Team. They will demonstrate how the rescue ambulance works, how to pack a survival kit and then we will a go at rescuing each other using a stretcher!
During June both classes will go on a residential trip to PGL at Boreatton Park in Shropshire. We will have an amazing time doing a wide variety of exciting activities. We will be working together, making some brilliant friends and probably getting very wet!
We cant wait!!!
