Breakfast and After School Club

Welcome to St Peter’s Breakfast and After School Club

Breakfast and After School Club are both run by Mrs Johnston, Miss Lynch and Mrs Akhtar who are all members of school staff. For all enquiries related to club please use 07518 138227 or call the school office.

Our Aim

Our aim is to provide a safe, fun and friendly environment for all children, supervised by experienced professional staff who facilitate wrap around care in school.

Our Commitment

Our first priority is the protection of children in our care. We are committed to the St Peter’s CE School policies including Safeguarding and Child Protection, Equalities, Anti-bullying, Mental Health and Well-being and First Aid which are available to view on the school website.

Timings

Drop off times are 7.30am and 8.00am.

Collection times are up to 4.00pm, up to 5.30pm

If a child has not been collected by 5:30pm parents will be contacted in the first instance by telephone. The additional contacts parents have provided will be telephoned in the second instance. If these contacts are unavailable after approximately one hour, the police and Social Services will be informed.

A fee will be applied for late collection from 5:35pm onwards at £1.00 per minute per child. This charge will be added to your account.

Both Mrs Johnston and Miss Lynch are trained in basic food hygiene and as such offer the following:

Breakfast

A choice of cereal, toast, fruit and juice will be provided. We are a nut-free school and if your child has any dietary requirements, please let us know.

After School

A snack, toast and a drink are provided during after school club.

Activities

There is a selection of activities available each morning and after school including jigsaws, games, Lego, colouring, craft and outdoor play.  Films are also available for children to watch. Should pupils wish to read or complete homework, group leaders can facilitate this.

Booking

To book a place for your child, please collect a booking form from the office and pay online using ParentPay.

All bookings need to be made on the Thursday before the forthcoming week using the booking form and payment on Parent Pay.

Safety Arrangements

When dropping your child off, please ensure that you hand them over to a member of club staff at the doorway and sign them in, unless you have provided a letter of authority in advance that they may arrive at school unattended. For the after school club, the year 3 pupils are collected from their classrooms at the end of the school day and the older pupils make their way to the club.  A register is taken on arrival at the club.

Upon collection you will be asked to sign the register to say that you have collected your child from club, this ensures that club staff know where all children are at all times.

Emergency Contact Details

It is essential that we have an up-to-date telephone/mobile number and an alternative emergency contact during the day in the event of your child being taken ill.

Please keep us informed of any changes to these contact details.

Accidents or Injuries

Should your child be injured or involved in an accident whilst attending a club, basic first aid treatment may be administered. The details will be recorded in an accident book. Should your child require emergency treatment, the staff will contact you immediately. However, they may need to act “in loco parentis” should they have to respond quickly. If an ambulance is required, a member of staff will accompany your child with their registration details should the parent/carer not be contactable.

Illness

Please do not send your child to the club if they are obviously unwell, or if you have reasonable doubts. Children suffering from diarrhoea or sickness must not return until 48 hours after their last bout. If your child becomes unwell during the club, a member of staff will contact you and ask you to come and collect them.

If your child will not be at a morning session due to illness, please inform us as soon as possible on 07518 138227.

Absence/Cancellations

Please provide as much notice as possible should you wish to cancel a session. Unfortunately, any session not attended will NOT be refunded. Should you wish to cancel your child’s place, 4 weeks written notice is required (payment is still required during the cancellation period).
